Aim: 
To assess the implementation of three modern management approaches within fisheries management: case studies from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Adaptive management, ecosystem-based fishery management, and application of the precautionary approach.

My thesis was originally designed as an assessment of Australian compliance to the Jakarta Mandate of the Convention on Biological Diversity 1992, and the UN Fish Stocks Agreement 1995. However I have moved the focus to an examination of overfishing under regulation.
