Hi All,
Garry Davidson has passed on a very encouraging report from Robyn Holmes (copied below) about last night's UWhockey session in Launceston. It sounds like things are going very well up there, and, on behalf of TUHA, I thank Garry for all his hard work in getting these sessions underway. If you want to be added to Garry's mailing-list for notices relevant to the UWhockey activities in Launceston, just let him know (garry.davidson at utas.edu.au<mailto:garry.davidson at utas.edu.au>).
While I have your attention......
I have just uploaded a first of what will hopefully be many training/educational videos to our TUHA website (www.underwaterhockey.com.au<http://www.underwaterhockey.com.au>). This first one is really just a test by me to see if the system of uploading would work....And it does ! So, please view this one as just a test. We hope to use short videos as an educational tool for our newer UWHockey players, and particularly for our new Schools Comp players. If you are interested in helping out with the making of these short videos on skills, on points of the rules of the game, and on the finer points of reffing, please let me know.

Well, a great night was had by all (Going from the feedback at the end of the session).
Arrived at the pool to find the staff had set up the table with gear, sign up sheet and some pucks and bats craftily displayed. I asked if they could include some scones and jam next week!
We had a best yet turn out last night with 25 people in the water. The experienced folks played a full game and I organised a crew for a scratch (4 each team) with a focus on skills etc. We did some laps focussing on passing, maneovering, and going down and up. The new guys enjoyed playing a game that they could simply practice getting down amongst it. I've forgotton how stuffed one feels when playing four on four!
Everyone seemed pretty happy about the way things ran last night and next week we're going to pay heed to tradition by enjoying a brew at the Royal Oak afterwards.
