Hi All,

Just to bring your attention to a few things.....

1) Every now and again we have to remind members of our Association (i.e. you) that if you have membership of Hobart Aquatic Centre you SHOULD NOT BE USING YOUR AQUATIC CENTRE PASS for entry on Mon or Wed nights to play underwater hockey. If you are doing that, and are not paying the entry fees that everyone else in our association has to pay for underwater hockey, then you are penalising the Association and your fellow underwater hockey players. We need your entry fees to cover the costs of hiring the pool. Pool entry fees will have to rise if we are not covering those costs through the entry fees collected. So, even if you are using the gym on a Mon or Wed night prior to playing UWHockey, please do the right thing and pay your entry fee.

2) A few D Grade players have mentioned to me recently that they are uncertain about the rules surrounding goals in UWHockey. Some of this uncertainty appears to have been generated by inconsistencies in reffing decisions. The rules on what constitutes a goal and what is not a goal are very clear-cut and I recommend that anyone in doubt (and even those of us who think we know !!) should have a look at the good explanatory diagrams on pages 31 & 32 in Vol.2 of the International Rules, available on the World AquaChallenge Association (WAA) website:
http://www.thewaa.org/WAA_FILES/Files/PDF%20FILES/UWH%20Rules%20v1%2030%20Vol2%20finalGH.pdf
The links to both volumes of the WAA International Rules are available on our TUHA website (www.underwaterhockey.com.au<http://www.underwaterhockey.com.au>) under "Rules of the Game" in General Info menu.
3) A reminder about the Pizzas in the Pub Mid-Pennant Social on Wed 14th October, beginning at 9pm. The pub of course is Prince of Wales Hotel in Hampden Rd, Battery Point. We'll make sure we stagger the arrival of pizzas so there is plenty for those playing in the later games. Pizzas provided by TUHA. Come and enjoy a drink and a feed after your game.
4) And finally, thanks to Sandra Milner for providing a report on the recent trip by Under 15 and U19 teams to New Zealand - see the website www.underwaterhockey.com.au<http://www.underwaterhockey.com.au>
