[Uwh-announce] Results of Finals - Week1

Hi All,

Results of last night's 1st Semi Finals are attached.

Most of you will eye-ball straight away that in 7 out of the 8 finals, the team that finished higher on the ladder at the end of the season won the game. But when I look at it, I see the more obvious.   In 87.5% of cases, Black Bats won. I have always thought that Black bats yield more power than White, and now it has been proved so.

Many, many thanks to all those that reffed. Particular mention must be made of the stirling reffing performances of Andrew Cawthorn, Pieter van der Woude and Simon Talbot for their 50 min marathon in the B3 vs B4 final that went to Golden Goal.

We'll be sending out the roster for next Wed's 2nd Semi Finals over the weekend. Marty will again be chasing refs.

PS.  Are you left-handed ? Is your favourite colour green ?  Do you answer to name of Bruce or have/have had close relationship with person called Bruce ?  If so the stick, glove and water-bottle left languishing together by the pool-side last night, and featured in the attached photo, could well be yours.  I have them. Stick has "Bruce" written on it. Quick check of TUHA database showed 69 Bruce's, and 68 of them as left-handed. I'm none the wiser, except I know the gear doesn't belong to Bruce Maher.  If this gear is not yours but you know whose it is, please tell me. If it is yours, but your name is not Bruce, still tell me.
