Hi All,

This is a call for information on teams (all grades) for Pennant 2 which begins on Wed 22nd July. We haven’t much time to get the new pennant roster and team lists into place, so we’d greatly appreciate that information be submitted as soon as possible.

TEAM CAPTAINS
Could all Team Captains please send me an email confirming whether or not your team is continuing onto Pennant 2 with the same player make-up as for Pennant 1.
Attached is a spreadsheet with team lists. It is possible there may be some errors, with players missing from your lists who you think should be there. Please tell me about these errors if you see any for your team.  Note: ® = Recruit player.

If you have in mind a major team change e.g. your team is ‘dissolving’, or you want to form a new team, please let me know asap as we’ll need to discuss such things amongst the Committee during the early part of this week. We cannot guarantee that all suggestions for new teams will be able to be accommodated, but we can guarantee that we will closely consider anything you put forward.

A , B  and C GRADE  DRAFTS
Players who wish to nominate for the the A, B, or Grade drafts should do so as soon as possible (ideally by end of Tuesday 14th) by sending me an email (craig.proctor at csiro.au<mailto:craig.proctor at csiro.au>), or by phone [62342059 (H), 62325376 (W), mob - 0439489991]. Please include mention of whether you are a forward, a back, or can play as both.  You should also inform the Captain of the team you are currently listed with, to say that you are nominating for the draft.

RECRUITS
As a reminder to Recruit players, here is an extract from the TUHA ByLaws:
6.4

Assessment:

6.4.1

At the end of the pennant each recruit is assessed by the Grading Committee and will either be determined to be suitable for that grade or not suitable.

6.4.2

If suitable, the recruit is deemed to be of a standard to play in the recruiting team’s grade permanently. The recruit must then either join the recruiting team or place themselves in the draft for that grade.

6.4.3

If not yet suitable, the recruit returns to their original lower grade team but can apply as a recruit again to the original recruiting team or any other team in a higher grade. The recruit may choose to enter the draft for the higher grade or if nominate for the draft in their original teams grade if they do not wish to rejoin their original team.


So, this is the process that has to occur during this week. If you were a Recruit player in a team in a higher grade during Pennant 1, and you wish to become a fully-fledged player in that higher grade, you have to decide whether you want to stay as member of the team you were a recruit of or whether you wish put your name forward into the Draft for that higher grade.

If you want to be a Recruit player in a higher grade team during this new pennant, in addition to playing with the team you are registered in, then please send me your name and your preferred playing position (i.e. forward or back). If you have already identified a team you would like to be a Recruit in and have discussed it with that team's Captain and he/she and the team are keen to have you as a Recruit, then make sure the Captain includes you on the team list, marked with an "R".
