Why Join TUCS?

As a member of TUCS you will receive an account on our server, enabling you to use services such as web hosting, network file storage and web email.

    Each TUCS member receives 1000MB of file storage, ideal for saving large assignment files and hosting a personal or society web page.
  • Create your own website
    All members get free web hosting on our server. It’s easy to host your web site with us, and we’ll help you if you don’t know how.
  • Are you studying Computing or Information Systems?
    We are the largest society supporting the needs of students studying in these areas.
  • Are you a faculty member?
    Our hosting services could be of assistance to you in communicating your research and work to others
  • Support forum
    Gain from the knowledge of other members in our support forum on anything computer related.

How Much Does it Cost?

TUCS offers three levels of membership.

Membership - $10

If you are a current student at the University of Tasmania and are able to provide us with your current student or staff number and University (ITR) username, you can join TUCS as a Member and are entitled to:

  • 1000MB of online disk space.
  • Web Page Hosting.
  • Webmail.
  • Online Forum.
  • LAN Party Invitations.
  • TUCS Event Invitations.
  • Member Discounts.

Associate Membership - $15

If you are a current staff or faculty member at the University of Tasmania and are able to provide us with your current staff number and University (ITR) username and an e-mail address, you can join TUCS as an Associate Member and are entitled to:

  • 1000MB of online disk space.
  • Web Page Hosting.
  • Webmail.
  • Online Forum.
  • LAN Party Invitations.
  • TUCS Event Invitations.
  • Member Discounts.

Social Membership - $15

If you do not qualify for either of the above membership types and would like to attend TUCS events, you can join TUCS as a Social Member and are entitled to:

  • Online Forum.
  • LAN Party Invitations.
  • TUCS Event Invitations.
  • Member Discounts.

Note: You must have a current UTas ID in order to have an account on our on-net server, hosted on the University network.

Signing up

You can sign up to TUCS at any of our events, such as Societies Day, BBQ’s or LAN parties. You can also sign up on campus or electronically.

Sign up on campus

You can sign up most days on campus by contacting a member of the executive committee.

Bring your student card and membership fee.

Direct desposit

Please ensure you have checked the prices above before making the despoit.
If you are unable to make it campus, you can sign up online via direct deposit to our bank account.

When we have received your email and verified the deposit, you will be e-mailed back with confirmation of your account.
